IABC/ Russia – big changes in the new year

IABC/ Russia is on the verge of big changes. To this conclusion came the Board of Directors of IABC/ Russia at the meeting that took place on December, 23 in Tapa de Comida restaurant.

The management of association agreed that it was right time for changes. “IABC has been developing very intensive trying to keep up with the western colleagues. It the following year we are going to focus on educational activities, start up the system of professional certification and update our official website”, - summarized Andrew Lapshov, president of IABC / Russia and CEO of Insiders company.

At the meeting were also discussed the achievements of IABC/ Russia in the past year. A number of well-known PR-experts such as Alexei Glazyrin (RASO), Vyacheslav Laschevsky (AGT), Eugene Plaksenkov (Miel), Nadezhda Yavdolyuk (RASO, Silver Archer) joined the Strategic Council of Association.
Lydia Golikova (Hronopey), Phil Gurov (Gurov and Partners), Eugene Kuznetsov (Fund of science, education and medicine development), Gennady Shatalov (Region PR) were introduced as the leaders of new committees within the Board of Directors.

Changes made to the rules of the international contest “Golden Quill” became the other important issue for discussion. The contest has been held by IABC for more than 30 years, but only since 2009 all the Russian works can be submitted in the native language. The latter became possible because of the growing weight of our language within the contest.

Founded in 1970, The International Association of Business Communicators provides a professional network of over 17000 business communication professionals in over 80 countries. Russian branch of Association was founded in 2001.
